Australian Food & Wine Tours

Food & Wine

Discover the fabulous wine and food and the beautiful landscapes of Australia

Australia has a number of famous wine regions – Margaret River in Western Australia; the Barossa valley and Adelaide hills in Southern Australia; in Victoria the Yarra valley, Mornington peninsula and Bellarine peninsula around Melbourne, the Rutherglen region and the King valley; the Hunter valley in New South Wales; and the Tamar valley in Tasmania. And there are more!

There are famous names – Voyager, Chandon, Brown Brothers, Penfolds, and others too numerous to mention, as well as boutique wineries and hidden gems – Tscharke, Woody Nook, Yeleena, Terindah, to name a few amongst many.

As well as wine, there is also food! There are many excellent dining experiences, varying from multi-course degustation meals with wines paired with seasonal produce, to more cafe style eateries featuring local specialities. And then there are local cheese dairies, chocolate factories, olive oil producers, and more to satisfy your palette.

At Travel Scents, we can configure a tour for you, visiting a specific or a selection of wine regions, and some famous and/or favourite wineries. We can also include sight-seeing for various destinations – Sydney harbour bridge, the Eagle cable car, the “twelve apostles”. You can walk Melbourne’s famous laneways, take an evening at the theatre, or maybe a cricket match. We can also arrange a few days of fun on the famous “Gold Coast”.

I toured the Australian wine regions with Travel Scents. We started with a wine appreciation session, followed by a degustation lunch with matched wines – a highlight of the tour! We visited the premier wine regions in Australia, experiencing the wines of each region and eating the local produce in excellent restaurants. Throughout we stayed at unique boutique hotels. Margaret River was my favourite destination – friendly and intimate, with interesting shops and galleries. We saw some of the scenic highlights of Australia – the Great Ocean road and the Blue Mountains were unforgettable. I loved the helicopter flight around the Twelve Apostles, and came away with some great photos. Altogether a great introduction to Australian food and wine, and the Australian country. Thanks Travel Scents.
