We stayed in a house built around a swimming pool, with kitchen and lounge on one side, and bedrooms on two other sides. In the morning you could swim to breakfast! We had a steward and a cook, so most of our meals were in house. John also had a cooking lesson – not the first nor the last he needs – and learnt to cook mackerel recheado, chicken cafreal, and goan fish curry, and also chapattis! This was a beautiful and relaxing centre for our exploration of Goa.
In the capital of Goa, Panji, we stopped for a spicy lunch of Goan thali, with clams, fish fry, fish curry, chicken curry, prawns and chapattis!
Then on to Bogmalo where we stayed in a beautiful resort, and spent most of the day in the pool. The highlight was dinner on the beach – freshly caught fish and prawns cooked to our specification, washed down with Kingfisher beer, while the waves broke at our feet!
Its a tough life, but someone has to do it!
